EXPAND EDUCATION has been developed by educator, mother and lifelong learner Tory Vidler. Tory feels strongly that education is the key to opportunity. In keeping with this belief, the Expand proposition has been designed to promote one simple but significant outcome - for every student to develop an intrepid curiosity about the world and their place in it.

​Tory’s own story is a testament to how a non-linear trajectory can lead to a fulfilling career. While on university exchange in France, the prescribed course of an undergraduate law student’s work life was interrupted by an unexpected turn. Tory seized an opportunity to become a researcher in the European Parliament which eventually led to a job working as an adviser to Australia’s Federal Education Minister. This ‘detour’ proved catalytic, Tory realised that education was her true calling and promptly enrolled for her Master of Teaching - and she hasn’t looked back. Tory went on to teach in both public and private schools across NSW and WA before applying her broad industry experience to the EXPAND EDUCATION mission.

Tory believes that all students are capable but need to be taught how to learn. As such, EXPAND EDUCATION seeks to bring a kind of magic to learning; encouraging a strong sense of self-belief and a notion of infinite possibility among students. Tory brings optimism, energy and meaning to learning. It is this impassioned and thoughtful approach that permeates the EXPAND offering and its educators - all of whom are hand-picked and trained by Tory herself. It is this hopeful atmosphere that proves endlessly rewarding for both teacher and student. 

Tory is also committed to encouraging experienced professionals to become teachers in order to bring a deeper, broader insight and real-world context to young minds. Similarly, Tory empowers and assists her senior students to explore and embrace opportunities  to experience the real world through early work experience, jobs, internships and seeking out mentors.
